From an Order that was placed by a Guest you can get to the Customer by clicking on the blue “Guest” link in the header… (Alternatively you can search for Guests on the Customer List.)
NOTE: Copy the customer email from their Billing address (Billing & Shipping tab) before pressing “Guest”

From the Customer Edit screen for the Customer you will need to amend the following data…

- Email – Use the email from the Orders address details or whichever the Customer prefers if you are on the phone to them
- Password – Ensure it is blank or you can set it to something for the Customer (You can also let them know after you converted their account to a Registered account that they will need to reset their password)
- First Name – You can also set this from the Address (If you either check the Order address details or click on the Address tab against the Customer screen)
- Last Name – You can also set this from the Address (If you either check the Order address details or click on the Address tab against the Customer screen)
- Customer Role – This is the crucial part. Remove the “Guest” role by pressing the “x” then add the “Registered” role.
After at least all of these have been set then you can press the “Save and Continue Edit” button at the top and check the data looks good. Then you can return to the Order and you will notice that the blue “Guest” text has now changed to the email address you set for the Customer. Now you will also be able to copy the order if you want to or find/impersonate that Customer now from the Customer search.
